5:00 pm to 11:00 pm
Chadds Ford, PA
Please join us to kick off summer with a concert under the stars featuring local guitarist Mark Oppenlander.
Mark Oppenlander started his guitar adventures at the age of 7 years old and earned a degree in Classical Guitar Performance at Temple University. He is known for playing many styles of music on the acoustic and electric guitar and is a founding member of the acoustic fusion group One Alternative.
When Mark performs in a solo setting the audience may hear a Bach piece followed by a Blind Blake ragtime tune, dovetailing into an improvisation done with digital delay. He enjoys interacting with his audience because the give and take between the performer and listener is what makes the musical experience better for both.
Here’s a sample of Mark playing the Paul Simon arrangement of ‘Anji’ by Davey Graham.
The doors open at 6 pm and the music will start about 7 pm. There will be two sets with an intermission.
Potluck and BYOB. Bring a beverage of your choice and a grazing to share.
House Concerts operate on the honor payment system. The suggested donation is $15 or more. All money goes to the performer.
